BARCELONA: George King, the guy who no cost-climbed The Shard in London, took his lifetime in his hands all over again when he scaled a single of Europe’s optimum skyscrapers in Barcelona on Friday (Apr 2) without having any ropes or security actions.
Crowds watched as the 21-yr-outdated British absolutely free climber produced his way to the top of the 116m Melia Barcelona Sky Hotel in the Spanish city.
As he was coming down, he was arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan regional law enforcement and faces a good.
“When I was at the major I felt that I was in another dimension of bliss,” King advised Reuters. “When I satisfied the law enforcement on the way down my head was nonetheless in the clouds.”

King scaled the Barcelona hotel in about 20 minutes. He first climbed the 310m The Shard creating in London in 2019, the best tower in the United Kingdom, with no any basic safety equipment.
The feat earned him six months in a younger offenders’ centre for breaching a civil injunction taken out by the owners of the building.
King, from Oxford in England but now travelling all over Europe in a van, has also climbed the 144m Agbar Tower skyscraper in Barcelona.
